Marble Fruit from Italy
Fruits always serve as a great part of décor, the fresher the look the better. But what if someone eats one? Or what if one goes bad? Those things will never happen to a marble fruit. These marble fruits are produced in Italy in the Carrara area, a place where the world-renowned quarries used by the great Michelangelo are to be found. Chunks of white marble are gathered, carved and chiseled into shapes of fruits. The pieces are then heated in a special oven to later have wax applied on them and painted with special mineral based and natural pigments. The final result is an extremely realistic fruit made of high-grade marble.
